See 5 Of The Most Amazing Destinations To Visit

Travel is a great way to broaden your horizons, embrace new experiences, discover different cultures, and stay curious – it’s part of being human. Maybe you have taken up our last blog post’s challenge to be more grateful and make your year more positive. Then, exploring offers worldly perspective, fostering gratitude. Or maybe “must travel more” is on your list of new year’s resolutions. This list will definitely give you some inspiration and help you to plan a trip to see some amazing places.

Italian Dolomites

The Italian Dolomites are unique and instantly recognizable by their outstanding rock formations, not to mention the inspiring granite peaks that soar toward the heavens. Visitors take to the Dolomites to get their adrenaline pumping with skiing, climbing, and mountain biking. But you can also take it easy with a relaxing walk or hike as you take in all that lovely, fresh mountain air and scenery.

Their impressive beauty resulted in the mountains being designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Places like Cortina d’Ampezzo and the Tofane Group in the Dolomites stood in for the Colorado Rockies where the film Cliffhanger is set. The movie’s producers reportedly decided the Dolomites were more dramatic and cinematic than the Rocky mountains.

The French Riviera

France’s Côte d’Azur, known in English as The French Riviera, is known for its romantic atmosphere. You can travel along the riviera and visit the French cities of Nice, Cannes, and Marseille. Also, the Mediterranean coastline is simply stunning, as is the food; be sure to indulge in some delectable Provençal cuisine.

The French Riviera is no stranger to film crews, having been featured in many films. It has provided inspiration for countless French films such as And God Created Woman in 1956 featuring Brigitte Bardot, 1969’s La Piscine with Jane Birkin, and Priceless from 2006, starring Audrey Tautou capture the glamorous Côte d’Azur environs. Hollywood has also come calling with movies such as Hitchcock’s To Catch A Thief in 1955 starring Cary Grant, the Bond film Goldeneye in 1995, and Grace Of Monaco in 2014, which starred Nicole Kidman.

Grand Canyon

If you haven’t visited the Grand Canyon in our own country, you really should. It’s generally believed to be around 6 million years old. However, a 2012 study suggested it may be as old as 70 million years.

Sure, its sheer size is extraordinary, although it is not the deepest canyon in the world. Tibet’s Yarlung Tsangpo Grand Canyon dwarfs it by plunging 17,567 feet compared to the Grand Canyon’s 6,093 feet. The Grand Canyon offers more than just size; feast your eyes on the range of colors, wildlife, and shapes on show.

There are also lots of little-known facts about the Grand Canyon. For instance, did you know there is actually a town there? Supai Village has a population of around 208 and lies within the Havasupai Indian Reservation at the base of the Grand Canyon. This, one of the most remote communities in the US, still relies on pack mules to deliver its mail.

Perhaps a loved one has always wanted to visit the Grand Canyon. Well, how about we make 2025 the year it happens? Speaking of changes in the new year, if you have been thinking of the best way to care for a loved one who needs assistance, a qualified caregiver could be the answer to cut the cost of assisted living and keep your loved one as independent as possible in their own home. A care provider from EJAI Loves Homecare can visit your loved one each day in Florida to check in on them and deliver necessary quality health care.

North America’s only Ice Hotel

To get in the Christmas spirit in genuinely wintry conditions next December, you could try Canada’s Hôtel de Glace. Each winter, the team rebuilds the hotel using 23,000 ice blocks at Valcartier, near the city of Quebec. It boasts a beautiful chapel with fur-lined pews, an ice bar serves drinks in ice glasses, an ice slide, and each room contains a unique ice sculpture and LED lighting.

To our knowledge, film and television productions have yet to use the ice hotel as a location. However, productions have had their parties and launch events there. Disney used the hotel to launch Frozen, and HBO hired the hotel for a party to celebrate Game Of Thrones.

A stay in an ice hotel is a romantic idea, but the reality is the temperature in your hotel room will be somewhere between -3° and 5° degrees Celsius. Will that be enough to quell your ardor? Only one way to find out!

Kathmandu

Surrounded by Himalayan mountains is Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal. If you are in the mood for a spiritual journey, visiting this city is a good start. Boasting both Buddhist and Hindu cultures, Kathmandu is a vibrant capital full of temples and monasteries, and places of historical interest, such as Boudhanath Stupa, Swayambhunath Temple, and Gardens of Dreams.

Kathmandu Valley, with its ancient monuments and temples, was designated a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site. Films shot in Nepal include Richard Attenborough’s 1982 film Gandhi, The Golden Child starring Eddie Murphy in 1986, The Last Samurai in 2003 featuring Tom Cruise, and the 2016 Marvel film Doctor Strange.
